Chablis 1er Cru
« Côte de Jouan »
The Estate’s third child, born on the Serein River’s left bank, comes from a purchase of grapes. This climat gets its name from the Latin juris meaning « high up, wooded area ». This name suits it well, especially when looked at from the valley floor. Before the decree establishing its appellation in 1987, the climat was called « Les landes et verjuts » (Moors and Verjuice). Decrees are not so bad after all!

A liquid sun with green glints dresses the glass and the gaze. Expressive aromas of lily flutter around a core that envelopes your palate. A wine as sensual as a caress to the taste buds.

Golden like a slice of the sun, this wine of purchased grapes crunches with honeysuckle perfumes and a delicate note of Bourbon vanilla. Its first impression is fatty; this wine has a frank fruit and a vertical savour that “plunges” on your tongue. Its salinity will make you want a second serving of oysters.

Golden like a slice of sun, this child of the rive gauche is the fruit of purchased grapes. It brings to light a nose filled with bitter orange, cinnamon and a touch of grilled wood. Its rich, pulpy, yellow fruit texture peppers the sensually solar vintage. Even if it could be stored away, its nature makes it a wine ready to serve.

Golden like a slice of the sun, this child from the left bank is a product of purchased grapes. Its nose is distinctly filled with ripe citrus fruit (bitter orange and lemon). A crisp texture is woven into the fruity pulp. After a few seconds, your saliva comes back, summoning the salty origins of its soil.
